Who can I practice talking to?
An ex, a current partner, a lost loved one, an estranged friend or family member, a parent, a past self. Twelve scenarios cover closure, apology, reconnection, boundaries, goodbye, and more.
Does it actually sound like the person?
Yes. With 500+ messages of source material, the persona usually feels recognizable across six fidelity dimensions (personality, language, emotions, values, interests, dynamic). No history? The 14-question Baimiao flow works from memory.
Is my data safe?
Uploaded chat histories are deleted after 30 days and are never used to train any model. Personas live in your account until you delete them.
How is this different from Replika or Character.AI?
Replika is a long-term AI companion. Character.AI is a public roleplay catalog. Startover is a focused, one-time rehearsal tool: one specific person, one specific conversation. Personas come from your real history, never shared.
